Comprehensive Social Coverage

The Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) offers employee security in the face of workplace crises. Under Category 1 (the Employment Injury and Invalidity Scheme), workers are protected against temporary or permanent disablement, occupational sickness, and clinical rehabilitation costs.

These benefits can be activated when commuting to work or executing direct business functions, keeping employees financially cushioned.

The Raised RM6,000 Siling Wage Barrier

To sustain inflation and provide bigger claim payouts during health challenges, the Malaysian Ministry of Human Resources raised the SOCSO sliding wage cap from RM5,000 to RM6,000.

Wages exceeding RM6,000 are taxed flat based on the upper bracket rate. This change guarantees that workers earning higher salaries qualify for premium compensation during disability claims.
